The Ministry of Government Services (MGS) plays an important role in delivering high-quality services to the people and businesses of Ontario.

The ministry is continuously improving vital front-line services that Ontarians depend on. Each year, almost 48 million transactions are conducted through ServiceOntario online, phone and in-person channels. Driver’s licences, vehicle registrations and basic Ontario health card services are available at almost 300 ServiceOntario centres across the province, and our customer satisfaction rates are now at 93%.

ServiceOntario is recognized around the world for innovative customer solutions, including money-back guarantees on nine key services and family-friendly hours at in-person locations.

Ontario highly values our businesses. ServiceOntario enables Ontarians to register a business, and our “one window” ONe-source for Business is an easy-to-use online portal for many services. ServiceOntario is committed to the principles of quality service in everything it does.

In addition to providing high-quality services to the public, MGS is responsible for managing and supporting the modernization of the Ontario Public Service (OPS). The ministry provides HR services and support to staff across the OPS, manages and delivers modern, public IT solutions, and purchases goods and services on behalf of the people and businesses of Ontario.

MGS is also a key partner in demonstrating the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability, publicly posting quarterly expenses reports for all senior OPS executives and members of the provincial legislature.
