Amending O. Reg. 278/05

(DESIGNATED SUBSTANCE - ASBESTOS ON CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AND IN BUILDINGS AND REPAIR OPERATIONS)

1. Subsection 1 (1) of Ontario Regulation 278/05 is amended by adding the following definitions:

“CSA” means the CSA Group; (“CSA”)

“NIOSH” means the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health; (“NIOSH”)

2. Paragraph 12 of section 14 of the Regulation is amended by adding “or CSA” after “NIOSH”.

3. Paragraph 11 of section 15 of the Regulation is amended by adding “or CSA” after “NIOSH”.

4. (1) Table 2 to the Regulation is amended by striking out “N-100, R-100 or P-100” wherever it appears and substituting in each case “N100, CA-N100, R100, CA-R100, P100 or CA-P100”.

(2) Table 2 to the Regulation is amended by striking out “N-100, P-100 or R-100” wherever it appears and substituting in each case “N100, CA-N100, R100, CA-R100, P100 or CA-P100”.

5. This Regulation comes into force on the later of July 1, 2026 and the day this Regulation is filed.
