Order in Council 615/2026

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas pursuant to section 5 of the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology Act, 2002 (the “Act”), the Minister of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security has determined that it is in the public interest to intervene into the affairs of The Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning;

And whereas the Minister intends to appoint a person to temporarily administer the business and affairs of the college pursuant to clause 15(1)(d) of Ontario Regulation 34/03 made under the Act;

Therefore, pursuant to clause 15(1)(d) of Ontario Regulation 34/03 and subsection 76(2) of the Legislation Act, 2006, the individual appointed by the Minister shall be:

1. Remunerated at a rate of $1,600 for each full day that he or she is engaged in the duties of the appointment and $800 for each half day that he or she is engaged in the duties of the appointment, for up to 3.5 days per week, provided that the total remuneration shall not exceed $280,000.
2. Reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the duties of his or her appointment in accordance with the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and any other Treasury Board/Management Board of Cabinet directives, up to a maximum of $18,000.
