Order in Council 704/2026

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereasthe Associate Judges Remuneration Commission (“Commission”) has been established pursuant to Order in Council O.C. 359/2012 dated March 27, 2012, as amended (“Order”), and its composition and functions are set out in the Order;

And whereas the Fourth Commission conducted an inquiry under section 6 of the Order into the remuneration of Associate Judges for the period beginning April 1, 2024 and ending on March 31, 2028;

And whereas section 6 of the Order requires the Commission to submit its report on the remuneration of Associate Judges to the President of the Treasury Board;

And whereas the Fourth Commission submitted its recommendations for the remuneration of Associate Judges to the President of the Treasury Board on October 20, 2025 and the report has been submitted to the Lieutenant Governor in Council;

And whereas section 12 of the Order requires the Lieutenant Governor in Council to give its written response to the Commission’s recommendations no later than seven months after the report was submitted to the President of the Treasury Board;

And whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council has decided to respond to the Commission’s recommendations as set out in the letter attached as Schedule A of this Order;

It is ordered that the President of the Treasury Board convey the Lieutenant Governor in Council’s response to the Commission’s recommendations to the Commission in the terms of the letter attached as Schedule A of this Order.
