Overview

Ontario’s roads are among the safest in North America. For 26 years in a row, Ontario has ranked among the top five jurisdictions for road safety.

The Ontario Road Safety Annual Report (ORSAR) shares detailed statistics about road safety. It uses data submitted by polices services, health agencies and others. Fatality numbers are checked against records from the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario, which can take several years to confirm.

You can find:

  • statistics on fatalities, injuries and property damage collisions
  • types of vehicles involved in collisions
  • where collisions occurred
  • conviction data
