Overview
Bigwind Lake Provincial Park is a 4,860-acre (1,967-hectare) natural environment class park located approximately 20 km east of Bracebridge.

The park protects:
- upland forests of sugar maple, hemlock and yellow birch
- low-lying swamps, marshes and meadows
Management planning
Ontario has approved the Bigwind Lake Provincial Park Management Plan, which will guide protection and management of the park for the next 20 years or more.
The management plan provides site-specific policy direction to:
- enhance recreational opportunities for visitors, including new paddle-in backcountry campsites, a trail and upgrades to road access and parking
- maintain the protection and health of local wildlife and the environment
