Project summary

The proposed work for the White Hills Anorthosite Project is a bulk sampling program that will use percussion drilling and explosives to break rock. Broken muck will be loaded onto trucks and transported for testing and inspection purposes. To not qualify as advanced exploration, the bulk sample will be less than 1000 tonnes. The proposed area for the bulk sampling is accessible by truck.

The proponent is an incorporation holding unpatented mining claims covering the project site and is looking to test an area of anorthosite deposit for the purpose of decorative stone and filler for industrial uses.

The project is in Hagerman Township located near the town of Magnetawan in Southern Ontario.

The proponent holds a 100% interest in 9 contiguous single cell mining claims in Hagar Township, covering approximately 203 hectares.

The bulk sampling will be carried out using percussion drilling and explosives to break exposed rock. Broken muck will be loaded onto trucks and transported for testing and inspection purposes. Any crushing required for the testing of the material will be done at the testing facility.

Statement of completion for a category B project (2025)

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) has completed the project documentation for the proposed Whitehills Anorthosite Project Bulk Sampling. The project is located in Hagerman Township, in the District of Parry Sound, approximately 32 km northeast of Parry Sound.

The proposed work program on the Whitehills Anorthosite Project will consist of trenching for the purpose of a bulk sampling program. The bulk sample will be less than 1000 tonnes keeping it below the threshold of advanced exploration. The site of the project is an at surface deposit that is accessible by truck and ATV along pre-existing roads and trails.

This undertaking has been assessed as a Category B, in accordance with the Class Environmental Assessment for Ministry of Energy and Mines Activities under the Mining Act (Class EA).

Consultation Summary

A Notice of Opportunity to Provide Input was posted as a Bulletin Notice on the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO #: 025-0752) on July 3, 2025, and additionally referenced on the MEM Class EA webpage. The notice and letters were supported with a description of the project that included a summary of potential negative environmental effects associated with the undertaking and proposed mitigation measures that would negate or reduce the significance of the environmental effects. All parties consulted were provided opportunity to provide input and express concerns related to the project over a 30-day comment period.

The 30-day comment period on the Environmental Registry of Ontario produced one general comment from the public. This public comment requested that the environment be protected as work is being completed, no specific request for mitigation was made. This general comment is in line with the current permit issuance as the proponent is responsible for following the Mining Act and any other applicable legislation while completing early exploration and bulk sample work, which ensures that the early exploration work is short in duration and low impact to the environment.

No other comments were received that would affect the project as it is currently planned. The Ministry of Energy and Mines will implement the project as described in the project documentation.
