The Government of Ontario is holding a webinar to spotlight the commitment of Saudi Arabia to smart mobility. 

The program will highlight the potential sales opportunities in Saudi Arabia for Ontario companies with technologies related to vehicle manufacturing and transportation networks. Countries in the region are improving mobility, reducing congestion, and curbing carbon emissions as populations and workforces grow. 

Saudi Arabia is investing in intelligent transportation systems (ITS), a category which includes capabilities like traffic management sensors and cameras, systems to automatically call emergency services, and real-time updates for public transportation. In Saudi Arabia, the NEOM megacity project focuses on autonomous transportation, electric vehicles and other mobility solutions. The Saudi capital, Riyadh, has invested in driverless trains and an AI-based adaptive signaling project. The country also intends to have a handful of automotive OEMs producing more than 400,000 passenger vehicles by 2030.
