Homeowner Protection Act, 2024

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

 

Homeowner Protection Act, 2024

 

1.  January 1, 2026 is named as the day on which the following provisions of the Homeowner Protection Act, 2024, c. 18, which amend the New Home Construction Licensing Act, 2017, come into force:

 

Schedule 1, s. 1-5.

 

2.  January 1, 2026 is named as the day on which the following provisions of the Homeowner Protection Act, 2024, c. 18, which amend the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act, come into force:

 

Schedule 3, s. 1 (1), (2).

Correction

This Order in Council, as previously published on e-Laws, contained the following publication error:

The Order in Council was shown as having been recommended by the Solicitor General. In fact, the Order in Council was recommended by the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement.

This error was corrected on June 10, 2026.
