Registration requirements for Business Entities

Registration requirements

1. Every business entity that is required to register as an employer under clause 5 (a) of the Act shall, upon registration, provide the Registrar with,

(a) a list of all its employees who are private investigators or security guards; and

(b) the name, address and telephone number of a representative of the business entity.  O. Reg. 368/07, s. 1.

Expiry of registration

2. (1) Every registration expires one year after the date of registration.  O. Reg. 368/07, s. 2.

(2) Despite subsection (1),

(a) a registration that would expire on or after April 16, 2020 and before June 17, 2020 is extended by 90 days; and

(b) a registration that expired on or after March 16, 2020 and before April 16, 2020 is extended for the period beginning on April 16, 2020 and ending on the day that is 90 days after the registration expired. O. Reg. 229/10, s. 1 (2); O. Reg. 152/20, s. 1.

Renewal of registration

3. (1) Every business entity that is required to register as an employer under clause 5 (a) of the Act shall renew its registration annually and provide the Registrar with,

(a) an updated list of all employees who are private investigators or security guards; and

(b) the name, address and telephone number of a representative of the business entity, if different from the information previously given.  O. Reg. 368/07, s. 3.

(2) In the case of a registration to which subsection 2 (2) applies, the registration may be renewed at any time before the end of the extended period provided for by that subsection for the registration. O. Reg. 152/20, s. 2.
