HEALTH SECTOR ENTITIES

Health sector entities

1. (1) The following persons or entities are prescribed for the purpose of clause (a) of the definition of “health sector entity” in section 2 of the Act, if they receive funding from a government entity to provide or support the provision of health services:

1. A person or entity that operates a hospital within the meaning of the Public Hospitals Act or a private hospital within the meaning of the Private Hospitals Act.

2. The University of Ottawa Heart Institute/Institut de cardiologie de l’Université d’Ottawa.

(2) The following corporations are prescribed for the purpose of clause (b) of the definition of “health sector entity” in section 2 of the Act, if they are controlled by one or more persons or entities mentioned in subsection (1) and exist solely or primarily for the purpose of purchasing goods or services for those persons or entities:

1. Every corporation controlled by one or more persons or entities described in paragraph 1 or 2 of subsection (1).

3. Omitted (provides for coming into force of provisions of this Regulation).
