Amending O. Reg. 53/01
(BILINGUAL PROCEEDINGS)
1. Subclause 5 (1) (a) (i) of Ontario Regulation 53/01 is amended by striking out “Form 1” and substituting “Form 1, titled “Bilingual Proceeding Requisition”, dated March 2017 and available on the Internet through www.ontariocourtforms.on.ca”.
2. The Regulation is amended by adding the following section:
Consent to file documents in French
5.1 For the purposes of paragraph 7 of subsection 126 (2) of the Courts of Justice Act, a consent to file documents written in French shall be in writing, and the party who is filing the documents shall file the consent with the court.
3. Subsection 8 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “Form 2” in the portion before clause (a) and substituting “Form 2, titled “Bilingual Proceeding Requisition - Appeals”, dated March 2017 and available on the Internet through www.ontariocourtforms.on.ca”.
4. The Regulation is amended by adding the following section:
Consent to file documents in French
8.1 For the purposes of paragraph 7 of subsection 126 (2) of the Courts of Justice Act, a consent to file documents written in French shall be in writing, and the party who is filing the documents shall file the consent with the court.
5. Section 15 of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:
General
Electronic filing
15. A document filed for the purposes of this Regulation may be filed electronically, if the electronic filing of the document is permitted by and in accordance with the rules of court.
6. Forms 1 and 2 of the Regulation are revoked.
Commencement
7. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
