Amending O. Reg. 473/07

(LICENCES FOR DRIVING INSTRUCTORS AND DRIVING SCHOOLS)

1. Section 2 of Ontario Regulation 473/07 is revoked and the following substituted:

Prescribed class of driving instruction

2. (1) In-vehicle driving instruction in the operation of a Class G motor vehicle is prescribed for the purpose of subsection 58 (1) of the Act as a class of driving instruction for which a driving instructor licence is required.

(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to driving instruction provided to the holder of a driver’s licence, other than a Class G1 or G2 driver’s licence, if,

(a)  the instruction is provided to train a person to operate an emergency vehicle within the meaning of section 159 of the Act;

(b)  the instruction is provided by or on behalf of an employer or organization to train its employees or volunteers; or

(c)  the instruction provided is primarily advanced instruction that is not available in a driver education course approved under section 15.

Commencement

2. This Regulation comes into force on the later of July 1, 2025 and the day this Regulation is filed.
