OFFICERS

Interpretation

1. In this Regulation,

“local transit system” has the same meaning as in the Metrolinx Act, 2006; (“réseau local de transport en commun”)

“special constable employer” has the same meaning as in the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019. (“employeur de constables spéciaux”)

Definition of “officer” in the Act

2. The following provincial offences officers are prescribed for the purposes of the definition of “officer” in the Act if their employer is a special constable employer:

1.  Special constables employed by Metrolinx.

2.  Special constables employed by the operator of a local transit system.

Commencement

3. This Regulation comes into force on the later of July 1, 2026 and the day this Regulation is filed.
