Amending O. Reg. 396/23

(MATTERS RESPECTING THE APPOINTMENT AND FUNCTIONS OF SPECIAL CONSTABLES AND THE AUTHORIZATION OF SPECIAL CONSTABLE EMPLOYERS)

1. Paragraph 5 of section 7 of Ontario Regulation 396/23 is revoked and the following substituted:

5.  The applicant must have commercial general liability insurance of a minimum amount of five million dollars and must name the Crown in right of Ontario as an additional insured, unless the applicant is,

i.  a ministry, commission, board or other administrative unit of the Government of Ontario, including any agency of the Government of Ontario, or

ii.  covered by a self-insurance program of the Government of Canada or the government of another province or territory in Canada.

2. Item 5 of the Table to the Schedule to the Regulation is amended by striking out “item 1” wherever it appears in Column 3 and substituting in each case “item 5”.

3. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
