(FIRE CODE)
1. Sentence 1.3.1.1.(1) of Division A of Ontario Regulation 213/07 is amended by striking out “Subject to Sentence (2)” at the beginning and substituting “Subject to Sentence (2) and Article 1.3.1.2.”.
2. Table 1.2.1.A. of Division B of the Regulation is amended by striking out,

3. The English version of Sentence 2.16.2.1.(4) of Division B of the Regulation is amended by striking out the portion before clause (a) and substituting the following:
(4) Where a forced-air fuel-burning appliance provides heated air to a building but is not located within a suite of residential occupancy or care occupancy, a carbon monoxide alarm shall be installed
. . . . .
4. (1) Note (1) to Table 3.2.7.1. of Division B of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:
(1) The numbers refer to the class and division of dangerous goods as defined in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, SOR/2001-286 (TDGR), made under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act (Canada).
(2) Note (8) to Table 3.2.7.1. of Division B of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:
(8) The TDGR defines “packing group” as “a group in which dangerous goods are included based on the inherent danger of the dangerous goods.” Packing Group I products are more hazardous than Packing Group III products.
5. Sentence 3.2.7.14.(5) of Division B of the Regulation is amended by striking out “Article 2.8.2.4.” at the end and substituting “Article 2.8.2.6.”.
6. Clauses 4.1.2.4.(2)(a) and (b) of Division B of the Regulation are revoked and the following substituted:
(a) through tests conforming to Subsection 4.1.3., or
(b) in the absence of the tests referred to in Clause (a)
(i) as a Class IC liquid if Class I liquids are added, or
(ii) as a Class II liquid if only Class II liquids are added.
7. Sentence 4.1.3.1.(3) of Division B of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:
(3) ASTM D3828, “Standard for Flash Point by Small Scale Closed Cup Tester”, is permitted to be used for testing aviation turbine fuels within the scope of this procedure.
8. Sentences 6.3.2.2.(1), (2) and (3) of Division B of the Regulation are revoked and the following substituted:
(1) Except as provided in Sentence (2), a fire alarm system, with or without voice communication capability, shall be inspected and tested in conformance with CAN/ULC-S536, “Standard for Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems”.
(2) Despite Clause 14.4.1.6. of CAN/ULC-S536, “Standard for Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems”, a UL listed smoke detector sensitivity instrument may be used to conduct annual sensitivity testing of smoke detectors.
(3) A description of the fire alarm system as required in CAN/ULC-S536, “Standard for Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems”, shall be kept current and maintained in the building at an approved location.
9. Article 6.3.2.4. of Division B of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:
Voice communication systems
6.3.2.4. Voice communication systems that are integrated with a fire alarm system shall be tested in conformance with CAN/ULC-S536, “Standard for Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems”.
10. The English version of Sentence 9.3.3.11.(1) of Division B of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:
(1) The flame-spread rating of interior wall and ceiling finishes within a means of egress shall not exceed 200.
11. Sentence 9.9.4.12.(2) of Division B of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:
(2) Where a fire alarm system has been installed, extended or modified as required by this Section, the system or portion of the system shall be tested in conformance with CAN/ULC-S537, “Standard for Verification of Fire Alarm Systems”.
Commencement
12. This Regulation comes into force on the later of January 1, 2026 and the day this Regulation is filed.
