Amending O. Reg. 82/23

(ONTARIO LEARN AND STAY GRANT)

1. Subsection 2 (1) of Ontario Regulation 82/23 is amended by adding the following definition:

“2026 Regulation” means Ontario Regulation 81/26 (Ontario Learn and Stay Grant — Medical Education) made under the Act; (“Règlement de 2026”)

2. Paragraph 2 of subsection 11 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “student loan” and substituting “loan”.

3. Subsection 12 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “micro-credential student loans and Ontario Tuition Grants under Ontario Regulation 118/07 (Ontario Access Grants and Ontario Tuition Grants), made under the Act” in the portion before clause (a) and substituting “micro-credential student loans, Ontario Tuition Grants under Ontario Regulation 118/07 (Ontario Access Grants and Ontario Tuition Grants) made under the Act and grants and Ontario Medical Education Loans issued under the 2026 Regulation”.

4. (1) Paragraph 1 of subsection 13 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a student loan issued under the Act, or any other amount required to be paid to the Crown in respect of any grant, loan or award” and substituting “a loan, or any other amount required to be paid to the Crown in respect of any grant or award”.

(2) Paragraph 2 of subsection 13 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “student loans” and substituting “loans”.

(3) Paragraph 3 of subsection 13 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “student loan” and substituting “loan”.

5. (1) Paragraph 1 of subsection 14 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “student loans” and substituting “loans”.

(2) Paragraph 2 of subsection 14 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a student loan or to a program of grants, awards or bursaries” and substituting “a loan or to a program of grants or awards”.

(3) Clause 14 (5) (b) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “student loans” in the portion before subclause (i) and substituting “loans”.

(4) Subclause 14 (5) (b) (vi) of the Regulation is amended by adding “as that section read on October 31, 2010” after “section 40.2 of the 2001 Regulation”.

(5) Subclause 14 (5) (b) (vii) of the Regulation is amended by adding “as those sections read on October 31, 2010” after “section 36, 39 or 39.1 of the 2001 Regulation”.

(6) Subclause 14 (5) (b) (viii) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “or section 13.2 of the pre-2001 Regulation, as those sections read on October 31, 2010” and substituting “as that section read on October 31, 2010, or section 13.2 of the pre-2001 Regulation, as that section read on October 31, 2010”.

6. (1) Subsection 20 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “micro-credential grants and micro-credential student loans” and substituting “micro-credential grants, micro-credential student loans and grants issued under the 2026 Regulation”.

(2) Paragraph 2 of subsection 20 (5) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “micro-credential grants and micro-credential student loans” and substituting “micro-credential grants, micro-credential student loans and grants issued under the 2026 Regulation”.

(3) Subsection 20 (7) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “micro-credential grants and micro-credential student loans” and substituting “micro-credential grants, micro-credential student loans and grants issued under the 2026 Regulation”.

7. Paragraph 6 of subsection 28 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “micro-credential student loans and Ontario Tuition Grants under Ontario Regulation 118/07 (Ontario Access Grants and Ontario Tuition Grants) made under the Act” and substituting “micro-credential student loans, Ontario Tuition Grants under Ontario Regulation 118/07 (Ontario Access Grants and Ontario Tuition Grants) made under the Act and grants issued under the 2026 Regulation”.

8. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
