How long does it take to register a birth and get my baby’s birth certificate?

It may take up to six to eight weeks to register the birth of your baby using the 4-in-1 Newborn Bundle if the information does not match the information submitted by the qualified medical staff.

If you fill in and mail the paper version of the Statement of Live Birth, it may take approximately two months to register the birth of your baby from the time we receive the paper statement of live birth.

The birth of your baby must be registered with the province before you can get a birth certificate.

Your baby’s birth certificate will be delivered approximately 15 business days after the birth is registered.
