The law

No-hunt zones protect forestry workers, hikers and others who may be active in remote areas.

They are set each year under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act. Signage is posted to designate a no-hunt zone before the start of hunting season, under the Trespass to Property Act.

Thunder Bay District No Hunt Zones

As a service to Ontario hunters, maps showing "no hunt" zones, in which no hunting is permitted, are now available. These 2015 maps show no hunt zones on Crown land in the Thunder Bay District only. For information on no hunt zones in other districts of Northwestern Ontario, or for more information on zone boundaries, please contact the ministry office that serves the area in which you plan to hunt.
