These particulars are posted following the issuance of a Compliance Order against a registered private career college by the Superintendent of Private Career Colleges pursuant to s. 46 (2) of the Act.

The Superintendent ordered Professional Driving Instructors of Ontario Inc. operating as Professional Driving Instructors of Ontario to stop contravening:

Required Actions

By April 29, 2022, Professional Driving Instructors of Ontario was required by the Superintendent to provide written confirmation signed by a person with authority to bind the corporation, together with all available supporting evidence, confirming that they would:

  1. Comply with all conditions of program approval that the Superintendent may specify, as required by subsection 23 (4) of the Act.
  2. Refrain from making a substantial change to a vocational program without the further approval of the Superintendent, as required by subsection 23 (6) of the Act .
  3. Ensure that all student enrolment contracts provide a fee refund policy that includes the prescribed provisions, as required by subsection 29 (2) of the Act.
  4. Refrain from hindering, obstructing, and/or providing false information to the Superintendent and/or designate(s) during inquiries and examinations, as required by subsection 38 (10) of the Act.
  5. Ensure that the college in ensured and the insurance coverage is sufficient to compensate the college for any damage to its buildings or equipment and protect the college in the case of any claims made in respect of accidents or personal injuries that occur, as required by subsection 5 (2) of the Regulation.
  6. Inform every student enrolled in a vocational program of the result of an evaluation of their progress, as required by subsection 12  (1) of the Regulation.
  7. Ensure that no student is admitted to a vocational program at the college unless they meet the admission requirements of the program, as required by subsection  9 (1) of the Regulation.
  8. Maintain student enrolment contracts that contain all of the prescribed terms as required by subsection 20 (1) of the Regulation.
  9. Maintain copies of student enrolment contracts in all vocational program student files, as required by section 23 of the Regulation.
  10. Not employ a person to provide instruction in a vocational program unless they meet the instructor qualification requirements, as required by subsection 41 (1) of the Regulation.
  11. Maintain complete records of personal information for each vocational program instructor in the prescribed form, as required by subsection 42 (1) of the Regulation.
  12. Maintain student files that contain all of the required information provided in subsection 45 (1) of the Regulation.
  13. Issue the credential approved by the Superintendent for a vocational program to every student within 60 days of the students’ completion of the program, as required by section 46 of the Regulation.
