What we heard
Registering a corporation separately in each province can be a costly added burden for businesses operating across provincial boundaries.
Our plan
Ontario is working collaboratively on a pan-Canadian working group to reduce duplication and barriers for extra-provincial corporate registration. The working group is exploring a proposal for a technological solution that will search and retrieve information from the participating jurisdiction’s registry databases, rather than create a new database.
Initially undertaken as part of the modernization of the Agreement on Internal Trade, this work is looking to modernize and develop more effective ways to share business registration information between jurisdictions, reducing paperwork for businesses.
