Cabbage Roll Sauté

This one pan supper brings you all the comforting tastes of homemade cabbage rolls without any finicky rolling.

Ingredients

  • 8 strips Ontario Bacon, cut in 1/2-inch (1 cm) pieces
  • 2 Ontario Onions, chopped
  • 4 cups (1 L) finely chopped Ontario Green Cabbage
  • 2 cups (500 mL) cooked rice
  • 1 can (14 oz/398 mL) diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) chopped fresh Ontario Parsley
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) chopped fresh Ontario Dill

Instructions

In large saucepan, cook bacon over medium heat until partially cooked. Stir in onions and cook for 3 minutes. Add cabbage and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add rice and tomatoes and bring to boil; reduce heat, cover and cook until liquid is absorbed, about 10 minutes. Stir in parsley and dill.
