Crunchy Kale Chips

Crunchy, healthy and tasty…you can’t say that about too many chips...and they're addictive!   Play with your spicing. Instead of using paprika, try chili powder or crushed red pepper flakes. It is important to spread the chips out on the baking sheets so that they dry evenly.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500 g) Ontario Kale, coarse stems removed and leaves torn, (about 8 cups/2 L)         
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves Ontario Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) sweet paprika
  • Pinch each coarse salt and pepper 

Instructions

In large bowl, toss together kale, oil, garlic, paprika, salt and pepper. Use hands to toss, coating leaves well and to massage in the oil.  

Arrange kale leaves on two parchment paper-lined rimmed baking sheets. Bake in 350°F (180°C) oven, switching trays halfway, until kale is crisp and slightly browned, about 20 minutes.
