Grilled Pizza With Mushrooms, Pear and Brie

The smoky taste of this barbecued pizza is perfect for dinner with a tossed green salad. Or cut into wedges and serve as an appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp (10 mL) olive oil
  • 4 oz (125 g) Ontario Mushrooms, sliced
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 firm but ripe Ontario Bartlett Pear, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz (125 g) Ontario Brie Cheese, rind removed and cut into 1/2-inch (1 cm) cubes
  • 1 baked pizza crust, preferably thin crust
  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) fresh Ontario Basil Leaves, thinly shredded

Instructions

Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high; add mushrooms and sauté, 4 to 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

In medium bowl, gently toss together mushrooms, pear slices and Brie.

Place pizza crust top side down on grill over medium-high heat; cook just until grill marks appear, about 1 minute. Flip crust over and scatter pear mixture evenly over crust. Close lid and grill until cheese melts, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and scatter with basil.
