Smoked Lake Whitefish Dip

Serve this dip with warm grilled naan bread. You can find smoked lake whitefish at specialty seafood markets and grocery stores. Smoked Ontario Trout can be substituted for the whitefish.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 pkgs (250 g each) block cream cheese, at room temperature 
  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) finely chopped Ontario Red Onion
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) chopped fresh Ontario Dill
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1-1/2 cup (375 mL) flaked, boned and skinned smoked Ontario Lake Whitefish 
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Garnish: chopped Ontario Red Onion and green onion
     

Instructions

In large bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise and cider vinegar; mix until smooth. Add red onion, dill, green onions and whitefish. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Gently mix; transfer to serving dish. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Garnish with red and green onions. Serve with warm bread.
