Ingredients
- 1 lb (500 g) Ontario Lean Ground Beef
- 1 medium Ontario Greenhouse Tomato, cored and diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp (5 mL) each chili powder,
- dried oregano and dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) each ground cumin and salt
- 8 taco shells (if desired, warmed according to package directions)
- Salsa
Instructions
In large nonstick skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat, breaking up with spoon, until no longer pink, about 8 minutes. Drain off fat in colander. Return beef to skillet. Add tomato, garlic, chili powder, oregano, mustard, cumin and salt; simmer on medium heat until tomato breaks down and mixture is saucy, 6 to 8 minutes. Divide filling among taco shells; top with salsa, prepared vegetables and cheese.
