Order in Council 1548/2020

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Government of Ontario is committed to an efficient and effective vaccine distribution plan in response to the covid-19 pandemic;

And whereas the Government of Ontario wishes to establish a special advisor position in order to provide advice and recommendations in support of its vaccine distribution plan and related initiatives;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Ontario to provide for the establishment and appointment of a special advisor to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities,

Establishment and Appointment of Special Advisor

1. The position of Special Advisor, covid-19 Vaccine Distribution Plan, accountable to the Premier, is established for a period of up to one (1) year, effective the date of this Order.
2. The Lieutenant Governor in Council may appoint the Special Advisor to serve at pleasure for a period of up to one (1) year from the date of this Order.

Terms of Reference

3. The Premier shall determine the terms of reference for the Special Advisor, including the Special Advisor’s role as Chair, covid-19 Vaccine Distribution Task Force, and may amend them from time to time.

Remuneration and Expenses

4. The Special Advisor shall be paid such remuneration as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine.
5. The Special Advisor shall be eligible for reimbursement of expenses incurred in their work as Special Advisor in accordance with the Management Board of Cabinet’s Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive.
