Order in Council 617/2024

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas Order in Council O.C.616/2024 dated May 9, 2024 established the position of Skilled Trades Special Advisor;

Therefore, pursuant to section 4 of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Act,

1. The Skilled Trades Special Advisor shall be remunerated at the rate of:
   1. $1,000 for each day that the Skilled Trades Special Advisor is engaged for more than 3 hours in carrying out their duties as the Skilled Trades Special Advisor, subject to clause (c);
   2. $500 for each day that the Skilled Trades Special Advisor is engaged for 3 hours or less in carrying out their duties as the Skilled Trades Special Advisor, subject to clause (c);
   3. The sum of the amounts paid under clauses (a) and (b) shall not exceed,
      1. $212,000 for the period beginning on the day this Order in Council is made and ending on March 31, 2025,
      2. $234,000 for the period beginning on April 1, 2025 and ending on March 31, 2026, and
      3. $22,000 for the period beginning on April 1, 2026 and ending on April 30, 2026.
2. In addition to the remuneration set out above, the Skilled Trades Special Advisor shall be reimbursed for reasonable work-related expenses incurred in carrying out their duties as the Skilled Trades Special Advisor in accordance with the Management Board of Cabinet’s Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and other applicable TB/MBC directives.
