Consultation: Housing affordability
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about how we can increase Ontario’s housing supply.
The consultation closed on January 13, 2022.
Background
Ontario has a housing crisis.
We introduced More Homes, More Choice: Ontario’s Housing Supply Action Plan to make housing more affordable by increasing the supply of the full range of housing options.
While the policies under More Homes, More Choice are working to increase supply and make it easier for Ontarians to find a home, housing prices continue to increase further out of reach for many of you and your families.
We know there is more to do, which is why we:
- asked for your ideas on how to build on the progress to date and make it easier for you to find a home that meets your needs and budget
- will engage with municipal partners, through a Provincial-Municipal Housing Summit and a meeting with rural municipalities leading up to the ROMA Conference in January
- have established a Housing Affordability Task Force with experts to provide advice and recommendations on additional measures to address housing affordability
