Integrated pest management for turf
Learn how to plan and manage turf in an integrated pest management system.
Executive summary
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) Publication 845, “Integrated Pest Management for Turf” (published in 2015) has been designed as a field handbook for:
- golf courses
- lawn care
- sod growers
- the parks sector
It is also recommended study material for the integrated pest management (IPM) accreditation exam for the Golf Course IPM Accreditation Program, which is required under The Pesticides Act and O. Reg. 63/09 and is administered by the IPM Council of Canada.
It contains extensive information on the diseases, insects, and weeds that are found in turf in Ontario, including:

- a turf disease time profile
- a turf scouting calendar
- a turf insect injury key
- an example of a pest scouting sheet
