About the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre

Building global business partnerships

A world-class business centre to support global partnerships

The Ontario Investment and Trade Centre offers best-in-class meeting facilities and state-of-the-art technologies designed to make it easier for foreign investors to discover how Ontario can help them grow their business.

Through the Centre, which is conveniently located in the heart of Toronto’s central business district, international clients have one-window access to the full range of Ontario’s investment, trade, and business immigration services, and the “people” networks that can get deals done.

The goal? Provide investors and trade professionals with seamless, coordinated, best-in-class service that will encourage them to do business with Ontario for years to come.

For foreign investors, the OITC immediately conveys the impression that Ontario is very interested in attracting investment to the province. Our first meetings at the Centre, where we met with municipal representatives and officials from across the province, served as an excellent introduction to Canada. Clearly, a lot of thought went into the Centre’s design. It’s well organized and well set-up for presentations and meetings. It also has a number of different-sized rooms which are ideal for a variety of meetings and functions. Overall, it’s a very impressive facility.

Leadership in sustainable design

The architectural design of the Centre showcases advanced energy-saving technologies, recycled/renewable elements and a visually stunning array of building materials from across Ontario including maple, cherry woods, copper and precision-milled stainless steel.

The Centre was awarded silver LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification – the construction industry’s internationally recognized standard for environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. It is the first Ontario government office to be LEED certified for interior office retrofit.

One of the great advantages of the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre is that you have everything under one roof – board rooms, meeting rooms, a large reception area, theatre-style presentation rooms, the technology you need – and it’s all in a accessible, central location. Add to that a highly professional staff and you have a very impressive, easy-to-use venue for industry meetings, presentations and events.

A welcoming, flexible space for meetings and events

The 2,100 m2 (23,000 square-foot) facility artfully combines sleek, highly functional design with executive-class amenities. All of the main rooms offer spectacular views of the downtown skyline. Each of the boardrooms features cherry wood wainscoting.

The Centre includes:

  • four boardrooms
  • seminar room with seating for 75+
  • presentation theatre with seating for 60+
  • galleria for networking events
  • library
  • open plan, well-equipped offices and hotelling workstations.

Event catering is available from three service providers. They can meet virtually any need from light refreshments to buffet-style meals.

State-of-the-art technologies to connect people, information and opportunities

The Centre’s leading-edge, web-enabled technologies can help meeting participants analyze opportunities and make decisions efficiently.

Meeting and boardrooms are equipped with the latest multimedia displays, videoconferencing and teleconferencing technologies. The 60-seat main theatre and large seminar room have rear projection video systems.

Robust databases are accessible including Select Ontario, a flexible and dynamic GIS-based search tool that showcases available investment properties, infrastructure data, workforce statistics and location advantages across Ontario.

All the light that pours in from the large picture windows overlooking the city makes the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre a very welcoming and comfortable meeting place to do business. It’s also a highly flexible facility right in the heart of downtown, with great technology and very helpful staff. It has been an excellent venue for our events.
