Ontario’s highway programs
Learn about the 2024 Ontario highways program. Find highway expansion and rehabilitation projects that are planned or underway.
Overview
The Ontario Highways Program provides information on highway expansion and rehabilitation projects that are planned or underway in communities across the province through different formats, including an interactive map and sortable tables.
From April 2024 to March 2025, the Ontario government is investing roughly $3.9 billion to repair and expand provincial highways and bridges. These investments in our highway network across the province will:
- connect communities
- improve the quality of life for families, workers and small businesses
- create and support jobs
- reduce gridlock
- improve safety
In addition to the projects included in the Ontario Highways Program, other projects that will improve our highway network are in the pre-planning and planning stages. Ontario continues to move ahead with Highway 413, a new 400-series highway that will cross Halton, Peel and York Regions and bring relief to one of the most congested transportation corridors in North America. You can see the proposed corridor for Highway 413 on the interactive map below. The route will continue to be refined as the planning and design work for the project progresses.
