Security guard and private investigator testing
Learn about basic testing for security guards and private investigators, where to take a test and how to register.
Overview
You must complete a basic training course and pass the basic ministry test before you can apply for a licence and work as a security guard or private investigator.
There are separate basic tests for security guards and private investigators. If you want to hold a dual license to work as both a security guard and private investigator you must complete both tests.
Tests consist of 60 multiple-choice questions based on topics covered in the basic training courses. You will have 75 minutes to complete each test.
