Healthy and safe Ontario workplaces: Measuring progress
Ontario released Healthy and Safe Ontario Workplaces: A Strategy for Transforming Occupational Health and Safety in December 2013. The strategy was a key recommendation of the Expert Advisory Panel on Occupational Health and Safety.
The strategy is a guide for all parties who influence health and safety in Ontario workplaces. It includes two goals and six priorities that all organizations can follow.
Goal: Target the areas of greatest need
Priorities:
- Assist the most vulnerable workers
- Support occupational health and safety improvements in small business
- Address the highest hazards that result in workplace injuries, illnesses or fatalities
Goal: Enhance Service Delivery
Priorities:
- Integrate service delivery and system-wide planning
- Build collaborative partnerships
- Promote a culture of health and safety
The following pages describe the Ministry’s achievements towards these goals.
