Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Competitiveness eligibility self-screener

Please submit your answers to the eligibility questions below. This will help you determine whether you qualify for the program.

If you are eligible, you will be provided with contact information for the Business Services Advisory Team to discuss your project. They will provide you with a link to Transfer Payment Ontario (TPON) where you can submit a full application. Please refer to the program guidelines for additional program criteria and information.

If you are not eligible you will be presented with information outlining the steps to access other services and supports.

Please note that AMIC is a competitive program and funding is only provided to the strongest applicants.

1) Is your organization an incorporated for-profit business in the Advanced Manufacturing sector with a plan to invest in Ontario? *

Note: sole proprietorships and start-ups are not eligible for the program.

2) Does your organization (or parent company) have a minimum 3 years of substantive operations supported by 3 years of externally reviewed financial statements? Applicants will be required to supply financial statements. *
3) Is your project an eligible project that will be completed in 3-4 years? (see definitions of eligible and ineligible projects below) *

Eligible projects include:

  • adopt/adapt innovative technologies that support productivity, improve competitiveness
  • invest in new equipment to scale up and grow their business increase exports to global markets, and reshore jobs and production
  • accelerate growth through new enhanced processes and more efficient and cost-effective ways of working

Ineligible projects include:

  • ongoing operations including maintenance and capital replacement
  • refinancing of existing business operations
  • acquisitions and buyouts
  • restructuring, or relocating to other jurisdictions within Ontario
  • primary production
  • retail
  • construction (for example, residential development)
  • personal services
  • consulting
  • electricity generation
  • waste management
  • recycling
4) Does your organization employ at least 10? Will your project create at least five net new jobs and/or upskilled current? (This can be a combined total, for example, 2 net new jobs and 3 upskilled existing jobs) *
5) Will your organization be investing at least $500,000 in the proposed project? *
