On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Government of Ontario has established an Indigenous Justice Advisory Group to provide advice to the Attorney General and other members of the Executive Council as appropriate arising from the First Nations Representation on Ontario Juries Report released February 26, 2013, and to provide such other assistance as may be required by the Attorney General;

And whereas the Government of Ontario wishes to ensure that the Indigenous Justice Group members are remunerated;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario to provide for the remuneration of advisors who serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities:

  1. Members of the Indigenous Justice Group (the “Advisory Group”), other than a chair or co-chair, who are not employed by the Government of Ontario or the Government of Canada shall be remunerated at the rate of $200 per diem for a maximum of 22 days per year;
  2. A chair or co-chair who is not employed by the Government of Ontario or the Government of Canada shall be remunerated at the rate of $350 per diem up for a maximum of 22 days per year; and
  3. All members of the Advisory Group shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred while engaged in the business of the Advisory Group in accordance with the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and any other Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet directives.
