Overview

As a result of the economic impact of COVID‑19, we are providing a one-time payment in 2021 to every eligible agricultural and horticultural society in Ontario.

Societies will receive this one-time 2021 grant payment in fall 2021.

The payment amount is based upon a society’s most recent grant payment (minus “Wet weather grant”) received under the Agricultural and Horticultural Organizations Act (AHOA).

Eligibility

This one-time payment will be automatically issued to all eligible societies based on the most recent grant received in 2020. It replaces the 2021 grant. Societies must be currently incorporated under the AHOA and must submit their annual return.

How to apply

No application is required.

In order to receive the payment, your society must be registered in Transfer Payments Ontario (TPON) and with up-to-date information, including:

  • full legal name
  • contact information

Get help with logging in, navigating or updating your society’s profile in TPON.

  • To fully cooperate during audits by the Crown or the Program Administrator (if any), upon notice and during normal business hours, to verify eligibility and to evaluate compliance with the requirements of the Agricultural and Horticultural Societies Grant Initiative (which may include allowing for the copying of records, removal of copied records and taking pictures or other recordings);
  • If it is determined the Society has received a grant payment it was not eligible to receive, through administrative error or otherwise, the Society will promptly repay any and all monies and interest on the same upon demand and as directed; and
  • That in the event of a conflict between anything set out in these Guidelines and the Minister's Order Number 0007/2019, the latter will prevail.
