Attawapiskat First Nation: Drinking Water Membrane Study
Information on a drinking water project through the Showcasing Water Innovation program.
Project overview
Pilot test an innovative nanofiltration system as a low-maintenance alternative for treating drinking water.
Attawapiskat’s drinking water source is difficult to treat and the community has had elevated levels of potentially harmful disinfection by-products in its treated water.
If the system works, it could be the preferred alternative for upgrading the community’s drinking water treatment system.
Expected outcomes
- cost-effective drinking water treatment
- reduction of disinfection by-products
- optimal solution for drinking water treatment
