Project overview

Implement innovative technologies to reduce the energy demand by 30 per cent for treating water and wastewater.

The project includes:

  • installing more efficient equipment
  • using smart grid technology
  • upgrading system controls
  • installing technology developed at Lakehead University

Expected outcomes

  • reduced operating costs from less energy use
  • improved water quality
  • real-world testing of a university-developed technology
