Ontario Child Benefit
A tax-free monthly payment for low- to moderate-income families with children under 18 years of age. It is paid to all eligible recipients whether they work or not.
Children’s Activity Tax Credit
If you have a child enrolled in activities, such as painting classes, soccer, hockey or music lessons, you can claim up to $509 in eligible expenses and get up to $50.90 back for each child under 16 for 2011.
Pregnancy and parental leave
Pregnant employees have the right to take Pregnancy Leave of up to 17 weeks of unpaid time off work. New parents have the right to take Parental Leave—unpaid time off work when a baby or child is born or first comes into their care.
