Project overview

Incorporate a unique low-impact submersible micro-turbine technology into a dam that regulates lake levels and flood flows on White Lake.

The project is an economically and environmentally viable strategy for regulating and managing the waters of the White River watershed area.

It will also provide a model that can be duplicated in dams throughout Canada and the United States.

Expected outcomes

  • lower operating costs
  • improved water flow and habitat downstream of the dam
  • reduced flooding risk in the community
