Overview

We’re working to make government services simpler, faster, better but we can’t do it alone.

Government teams need the help and expertise of Service Design and User Experience vendors to help meet the Digital Service Standard.

The standard sets out points to help build and deliver government services. All new or redesigned public-facing information and services will follow the standard.

Whether you’re a solo entrepreneur or a large corporation, we encourage you to apply to be a Vendor of Record on the Experience Design Vendor of Record arrangement.

You can help teams make government services better through two different phases of work:

  1. Discovery
  2. Alpha

Discovery

You should apply for Discovery if you are a vendor that can help government teams get a better understanding of the problem they are setting out to solve.

You will help teams learn more about:

  • what the current experience is for users
  • what users are really trying to do
  • what unmet needs users have

Alpha

You should apply for Alpha if you are a vendor that can help government teams try new approaches to solving problems and test these approaches quickly. This way, potential issues can be found and fixed before investing too much time and money into one design.

Becoming a vendor

You can apply to be a vendor of record for Discovery, Alpha, or both.

If you are selected to be a vendor on the Vendor of Record arrangement, you will be able to provide your services to the government.
