Legislative tables help

Under subsection 10.1 (1) of the Legislation Act, 2006, the Attorney General must table an annual report in the Legislative Assembly listing every statute or provision of a statute that:

  • was enacted 9 or more years before December 31 of the previous year
  • is to come into force on a day to be named by proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor and was not in force on December 31 of the previous year

Under subsection 10.1 (2) of the Legislation Act, 2006, every statute or provision listed in the Attorney General’s report is repealed on December 31 of the year the report is tabled, unless:

  • the statute or provision comes into force on or before December 31 of that year
  • during that year, the Assembly adopts a resolution that the statute or provision not be repealed
