Overview
The Investing in Women’s Futures (IWF) program provides a range of services and employment supports to help women overcome barriers, increase well-being, build skills and gain employment.
Through the IWF program survivors of gender-based violence and women experiencing social and economic barriers have access to employment readiness and wraparound supports to transition to employment and gain financial independence.
The program expanded in 2023 and is now available at 33 locations across the province.
Eligibility
As a woman seeking assistance with obtaining financial security, the Investing in Women’s Futures program can help you find a range of services and employment supports.
You can contact or visit one of the organizations that offer the program to get help to find life skills and employment training opportunities, as well as gender-based violence supports, if needed.
Services and supports
Services vary from location to location. Contact a location near you to find out what each location offers.
Some examples of services are:
- safety planning and supportive counselling for women experiencing abuse
- legal rights and system navigation and referrals
- life skills workshops
- financial literacy training
- personal and professional coaching
- mentorship
- self-esteem workshops
- employment readiness workshops
- entrepreneurship skills development
- occupational skills training
