- Except with the approval of the sanctioning body, the classes for contests or exhibitions and the weights for each class shall be:

- Weigh-ins for amateur contestants may be on the day of or one day prior to the competition. The practice of weight cutting techniques is to be discouraged by clubs, coaches and all connected with amateur competition. The ethos behind amateur competition and experience is for combatants to concentrate solely on technique and experience gained through competitive fighting. It is recommended there should be a period of no less than 1 hour before competition and no longer than 24 hours between weigh-in and competition.
3. Skill/experience requirements
- No-Gi: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Elite
- Gi: White, Grey, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, Brown & Black Belt
4. Matching guidelines
- Skill levels
- Beginner: Less than 1 year of training.
- Intermediate: 1–3 years of training
- Advanced: 3+ years of training or equivalent competitive experience.
- Mastery of grappling techniques, preparing for higher levels of competition.
- Competition levels
- Traditional level:
- For athletes who are still developing foundational skills in grappling.
- Focus on learning, sportsmanship, and fair competition.
- Elite level:
- For high-performance athletes competing at national or international levels.
- Emphasis on advanced techniques, competition experience, and professional-level performance.
- Traditional level:
- Matchmaking criteria
- Techniques: Categories will focus exclusively on grappling techniques only, as no striking will be allowed in these competitions.
- Match experience: Participants will be matched based on their experience and number of competitive grappling matches, as outlined in the skill levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Elite level).
