On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Government of Ontario is committed to bolstering the Province’s economy by attracting foreign trade and investment.

And whereas the Government of Ontario is taking key actions to better position Ontario to compete internationally.

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Ontario to appoint advisors to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities,

Special Advisor

Eight positions of Special Advisor, Agent-General (“A-G”), accountable to the Premier of Ontario, are hereby established, effective June 20, 2019.

Terms of Reference

The Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs shall determine the terms of reference for the A-G and may amend them from time to time.

Appointment

The Lieutenant Governor in Council may appoint the A-G to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council for a period not exceeding three years from the effective date of the appointment.

Remuneration and Expenses

The A-G shall be paid such remuneration and shall be reimbursed for such expenses as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine.
