Consultation: Ontario’s next occupational health and safety strategy
This consultation is now closed.
We are developing a new occupational health and safety strategy. From April 15 to May 15, 2019, we invited you to share your feedback to help protect workers’ health and safety on the job, while making it easier for businesses to grow and prosper across Ontario.
Background
We work closely with our health and safety system partners to protect Ontario workers’ health and safety on the job. The Occupational Health and Safety Act provides the legal framework and tools to prevent injuries and illnesses at work.
In December 2013, we released the first 5-year provincial strategy on workplace health and safety. The strategy:
- transformed Ontario’s occupational health and safety system
- outlined actions to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses and fatalities in Ontario
Read about our accomplishments in the latest annual report.
Developing a new strategy
We are developing the next provincial occupational health and safety strategy that will look to:
- promote workplace health and safety
- strengthen the existing occupational health and safety system
- support Ontario businesses
