Overview
Cyber security awareness and training is an important part of Ontario’s Cyber Security Strategy and safeguards all types of data against theft and loss. We are continuously working to strengthen our cyber security practices and protect the data entrusted to us by the people and businesses of Ontario.

Cyber security for government ministries and the broader public sector
The Cyber Security Centre of Excellence helps educate Ontario government ministries, municipalities and broader public sector organizations about cyber security and best practices to keep Ontarians’ information safe and secure. We provide cyber security advice, guidance, information and services to strengthen digital resilience while meeting digital service delivery expectations.
Examples of broader public sector organizations include: hospitals, universities, colleges, school boards and children’s aid societies.

Ontario BPS Cyber Security Strategy Report (2024)
This report highlights Ontario’s strategy and progress to strengthen cyber resiliency across government and the broader public sector. It was informed by the Cyber Security Expert Panel’s Report.
Cyber Security Expert Panel Report (2022)
The final report to the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery assessing cyber security with recommendations for improvement.
Educational resources
Centre of Excellence learning account
Create a Cyber Security Centre of Excellence account and sign-in to access more cyber security educational resources and subscribe to notifications and services. Broader public sector, agencies, and municipalities are eligible to access these resources.
Cyber Security Awareness Month
Cyber Security Awareness Month is an annual campaign held in October to inform the public on the importance of cyber security.
Community of Practice
The Community of Practice is a network of cyber practitioners in the broader public sector that participate in regular webinars to stay up-to-date on the latest cyber security news.
