Provincial status on COVID-19

Update on January 20, 2022

In response to recent trends that show a rapid increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, Ontario is temporarily moving into a modified Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen that takes into account the province’s successful vaccination efforts.

As of January 5, 2022 at 12:01 a.m. a number of measures will be in place for at least 21 days (until January 27) subject to trends in public health and our health system.

Please refer to O. Reg. 263/20 Rules for Areas in Step 2 for the complete list of measures and conditions that apply to certain businesses, organizations, places and individuals.

As of Monday, December 20, 2021, all individuals aged 18 and over were eligible to receive a booster shot.  Appointments may be scheduled through the Ontario’s booking portal, by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre, through Indigenous-led vaccination clinics, participating pharmacies and primary care settings.

As of September 22, 2021, Ontarians are required to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) with proof of vaccination along with photo ID to access certain public settings and facilities.

Orders under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act have been extended until February 9, 2022. Orders under the Reopening Ontario Act have been extended until February 14, 2022.
