Get details on the notice of approval.

In making the decision to approve the undertaking, consideration was given to the purpose of the Environmental Assessment Act, the environmental assessment (EA), the Government Review of the EA, public and government agency comments. Conditions of approval require the MTO to follow their Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities to undertake additional public and agency consultation prior to finalizing the design and construction of the highway. Conditions also require MTO to conduct additional environmental studies prior to construction.

MTO can now proceed to design and construct the highway, subject to the conditions of approval, and any other permits and approvals that are required. The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks will monitor all conditions of approval for compliance.
